Firstly, you will be pleased to know that Olivia has been
performing super well in Arezzo, Italy. She has been riding for Ludo
Phillippaerts for the last three months and has enjoyed the experience
immensely! Olivia tells me that she has learnt heaps and can't wait to get home
to show me some great training methods she has acquired whilst riding there. So
far on her Italy Tour Olivia has had two 5th placing's on two
different horses. She also rides this weekend in the Silver Tour in the main
Arena on a horse called Fidele. Ludo is very happy with her, so all good on
that front! She arrives home in a couple of weeks.
Meanwhile I have been over to New Zealand with Nero GHP to
compete at Hawera Show and the Horse of the Year Show in Hastings. The decision
to go to NZ was a very quick one!! I had just ridden Nero for the first time at
Nambour Grand Weekend Show and had a great show on him there, so decided last
minute to book my horse and myself a couple of tickets and head on over to NZ!!
Nero performed very well for me with a 2nd in the Norwood Gold Cup,
a 5th in the Olympic Cup and a 3rd in the Grand Prix at
Hawera.
Then just last week we had Toowoomba Royal Show. The weather
was fantastic and the jumping was terrific, my horses had wins and placing's in
all events and jumped fantastically well, actually well enough to earn me the
Champion Rider of the Show!! So the 2012 season is off to a flying start for
Team Hamood, both here in Australia and over in Italy!!
