Green Green Grass of Glen Haven

After such a fantastic summer season, all the pastures here at Glen Haven Park are lush and plentiful. This ensures the Singapore horses have plenty of fun during turnout time! They're either living the high life kicking up their heels or head down enjoying the scrumptious grass - it's hard to know which pastime they enjoy more!

Love is in the Air!

Here at Glen Haven Park, with so many living under one roof, new romances were bound to bloom - amongst the horses, of course! We've all gotten to know the horses so well and it's been noticed that there are definitely some very attached couples living in the Singapore barn. The most notably smitten are Damiro and Pearl Monarch, who are so deeply in love, we just had to share their 'wedding' album with you all. What makes this relationship even sweeter is that Pearl is the smallest horse in the barn at 15.1hh and Damiro is the largest, at 17.1hh. They are the cutest couple! Another devoted couple are Travelling Soldier (Jim) and Emmaville Persuasion (Percy) - they spend all their spare time with their heads tucked into the corner of the stable closest to the other, whispering sweet nothings. If Percy happens to be getting worked at a different time to Jim, he watches Jim on the arena and then starts whinnying out when he sees him returning back to the stable block. Another noted love affair was between Roxy Girl and Teddy Waffles but cruel fate tore them apart (Teddy was moved to another stable), however, after a brief period of being heart broken, Roxy soon transferred her affections to handsome Hugo. Teddy is still single as far as we are aware...

February Team Member of the Month - Tom Sedger

Another month has flown by with training of the Singapore horses ongoing and another two day training show at Caboolture Indoor Arena under our belts. Overall the horses behaved impeccably and have improved in the short time since they were last at Caboolture. Also, the end of February meant it was once again time to award the prestigious Glen Haven Park Team Member of the Month to a worthy candidate. February's Team Member of the month was awarded to very hard working rider/trainer (and team farrier), Tom Sedger. Tom always has a positive attitude when working with the horses and is dedicated to furthering their training to make sure they are the best they can be for the Olympic Games and their future careers. He is determined and tenacious (in a good way!) with improving the horses flat work and jumping and is always open to advice and suggestions, willing to work on his horsemanship and riding. Tom shows great initiative by giving horses extra work if he feels they need it, without being asked and is always available to ride more horses if needed. Of course, as well as his riding and training of the horses, Tom is a Master Farrier by trade and when he's not in the saddle he can be found, head down, making shoes or under one of the horses, taking care of their feet! Congratulations Tom on your outstanding efforts and being awarded February Team Member of the Month!
